Even though Drupalcon DC ended just a few days ago, work on the next one – coming to Paris in September ’09 – has already begun. We want your feedback on DrupalCon DC so the organizers of future conferences can make them better. Please take five minutes to answer this short survey and let us know what you want from DrupalCons and how we can make them better.

Take the survey.

Even if you didn’t attend DrupalCon DC, please consider taking the survey. DrupalCon is a community event, and we’d like to get feedback on it from the entire community.

Thank you!

To all the volunteers at DrupalCon: Thank you! The conference could not have moved smoothly without you. Across 12 volunteer shifts (spanning the entire conference and a little more), over 75 of you woke up early to:

  • swag 1,400+ bags
  • set up the conference center with signs and tables
  • register 1,400+ people
  • answer countless questions ranging from conference passes, session topics, to Drupal howtos and network troubleshooting
  • give an amazing zoo tour

You are why this community rules. We can't thank you enough. I hope you like the shirts. If you aren't from DC, come back any time. If you are from DC, we're psyched to see you where we always see you.

There are a ton of birds of a feather sessions happening today on some really interesting topics.

If you don't want to squint to make out that image, there's a list below of all these BoFs going on. For times and locations, check out the BoF board by the registration table. If you'd like to organize a BoF, there's still room on the schedule for sessions today and tomorrow, so head over to the board and set one up!

Hey all! So tonight is gonna be a looong and good night to hang out in Drupal land. There’s a lot going on, so I’m going to just list them. Here’s a quick list of all the office gatherings that have come together. (Click here to see the big map of everything :)

Designers & Themers Happy Hour 7pm – 8 pm
Come mix with fellow hot designers and awesome themers at Tasca, a friendly Spanish restaurant near Chinatown. This will be a great chance to meet each other in a design-oriented event. 722 7th Street.

Loving Paris?
For everyone excited about next DrupalCon in Paris, we will have a party at “Brasserie Beck,” the French/Belgian brasserie at 1101 K Street. Goes from 6:30 pm onward. You can win a bottle of champagne!

Ethiopian Uberdinner
This event has gotten big and you can only talk to so many people over dinner, so we’re going to split up depending on your Ubercart experience.

For conversations about using Ubercart, join us at Meskerem Ethiopian Restaurant, 2434 18th St NW in the Adams Morgan of D.C.

For conversations about developing Ubercart, join us at Lalibela, 1415 14th St. NW.

Chapter Three Party
Party at Asylum in Adams Morgan, hosted by Chapter Three. Great food (including vegan options!) and good people to hang out with in a really cool neighborhood of D.C. 2471 18th St. NW

Phase2 & Blackmesh Party
Come to Clyde’s of Gallery Place in the heart of Washington’s Chinatown district and the revitalized area of Penn Quarter. It’s less than 2 blocks away from the convention center—just walk down 7th street and it’s in the Gallery Place Atrium.

We’ll be in the grand Victorian style Piedmont Room upstairs. Look for signs. We’ll have beer and drink specials and snacks. Hope to see you there! 707 7th Street, NW

Alan Doucette (Trellon Room), Chris Rowe (CommonPlaces Room), David Lanier (Keynotes and Torvald’s Room), Robert Nelson Vance (OpenCalais Room), March Espedido (Trellon and CommonPlaces Room), Marc Tan (Aquia Room), and I are all busy recording, converting, and uploading almost all the DrupalCon DC 2009 sessions. Our goal is simple: 93 DrupalCon videos formatted, online, linked, and tweeted by late Friday night. And we’re well on our way – 23 videos and counting…

You can grab the latest videos by
1. following my twitter account
2. Looking for a “Video” comment in the session of interest
3. Keeping an eye on http://drupal.org/node/385952
4. Searching archive.org for: DrupalCon DC 2009

So turn off your screensavers, dim the lights, grab you favorite beverage, and fire-up your video player. The DrupalCon DC 2009
sessions that you just couldn’t make it to are – or will soon be – only a few clicks away.
