The Convention Center is centrally located in downtown Washington, DC at 801 Mount Vernon Pl NW, Washington, DC 20001. It has its own metro station - Mount Vernon Square/Convention Center - on the yellow and green lines and is near many hotels, restaurants, and tourist destinations. Public Transportation

Washington, DC has an easy to use, safe public transportation system. The metro connects most destinations in the city’s center as well as National Airport and train and bus stations. It’s affordable with all inner-city fares under $2.00 and most rides costing only $1.35. Additionally, a massive bus
system crisscrosses the city and can get you to every place the metro does not go.

Walking Around

Since the venue is so central, you can do a lot just by walking around. There are lots of restaurants and bars just a short walk away, along with museums, shops, a movie theater, and many major tourist destinations. Although the area is safe, at night it's always prudent to walk in groups, stay on well lit and high traffic roads, and just generally be cautious.
