Version Control API is the VCS abstraction layer for Drupal that was started during the Google Summer of Code 2007, and aims for replacing the existing CVS integration (provided by cvs.module) on drupal.org and elsewhere, along with possibilities to integrate with other version control systems as well. It's work in progress, and after a hard year of refactoring and recovery it finally seems to be getting somewhere.

Sam Boyer (official maintainer) and me (inofficial maintainer) will be hosting a BoF in order to tackle questions like:

  • Where does it come from, and how does it work?
  • What's the current status, and where is it going?
  • What can it do for you, and what can you do for Version Control API?

If you're interested in integrating version control systems with Drupal then this session is for you - do tell what you wish/expect of it, suggestions for the format and/or contents of the BoF are more than welcome.

scheduled!

The BoF will be taking place on Friday at 3:45 pm in room 141 (as can be seen on the BoF wall as well), hopefully that's a feasible time for most people who'd like to come. See you there!
