Want to learn how to knit The Drupal Socks?! zOMG YES! This BoF will teach craft wannabes how to embellish just about any piece of fabric with simple hand stitching techniques. thanks!

Excellent, thanks for cross-posting! :)

Want to learn how to make a Drupal hat? How about a stuffed Drupal for your desk? Nikkiana's coming to show you how! ;)

If anyone is interested I can share my fair isle Drupal mitten pattern;)

I would totally like a copy of that! :)

This totally needs to be scheduled to not conflict for me (I'm trying to keep my own sessions down so I have time to do other things this 'con ;-)). I haven't knitted in over 20 years.

Foods?

Don't forget your favourite Drupal foods: DruplEgg, DrupliBacon and DrupliCake!

I don't know whether to be frightened or awed by the DrupliBacon....

Ohhhhh, this would be awesome to see*.

*C'mon, workplace, confirm that I can go already so I can quit thinking in terms of 'maybes'!

I can knit and crochet, but quilting's absorbing a lot of my time these days. Note to self: really should make a side jaunt to G Street Fabrics for a fabric raid...that place is phenomenal.

What do you think about the idea of making a Drupal blanket? We could all submit a square and have a seaming party as part of the BoF. I know there are weird rules around having raffles (the government likes you to apply for permission), so I'm not sure if we could do it as a fundraiser... but I just thought I'd throw the idea out there....

domesticat's mention of quilting made me think of it. (I also love quilting, but haven't ventured into the land of Drupal quilting...yet.)

omg, I'm so in!

What size squares? Will cross-stitched squares be eligible if we do a Drupal blanket?

...get it... patches welcome? I need a life. :)

Of course patches of all kinds will be welcome! It will need to have some way of being attached to the squares on either side, but if you can figure out a way to do that on fabric or the mesh for cross stitch or any other blanket-type material, I think that's awesome and look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Size-wise: I was thinking 10"x10" for each square? If we get 36 squares that would make a 5'x5' blanket...how does this sound?

It would help if we'd know in advance how many of us will be there so that we'd knit/crochet/cross stitch enough squares...

nah

it's like a potluck... whatever you get is whatever you get. Even if it's 34904 jello salads! And it's VERY fast to crochet more squares as filler. :)

Very excited to see fellow crafters out there... I'll definitely be packing me needles!

+1 for crafting! yaaay. Assuming sprout lets me.

I'll be sure to save a little space in my luggage for my knitting, this should be fun!

Don't you mean "save a little room for clothing"? ;)

i'll be the one clothed in skeins of yarn... ;-)

I'm totally up for this. Especially since the only "crafting" I've done in the last few years is in WoW or Warhammer Online :P. Somehow I think a Drupal touque would be perfect for skiing!

awesome!

This sounds like a dream come true. Count me in on the blanket... I might quilt/applique something to bring along :)

so what?

when? where? how?

Hopefully not today -- my crochet bag is back in the hotel.

My suitcase was only half-full when I finished packing. What can I say, I HAD to pack a lot of yarn to keep things from shifting around too much.

How about Thursday or (and?) Friday, 4:30 -5:30? That includes the 4:45-5:15 break time, so half an hour won't conflict with anything. My brain will be full by the end of the day, and it could segue nicely into dinner.

I'm delighted to meet on Thursday 4:30 -5:30 too! Does someone want to add it to the white board the next time they're passing by? Thanks!

Done!

The schedule grid runs from 4:15-4:45. We can stay through the break, 4:45-5:15.
