Building corporate applications for 13 years on an IBM mainframe and then for 15 years in the Microsoft suite has given me ample impetus to break away into the open source arena.

With all of the excellent choices of technologies to pursue, I've chosen Drupal for a variety of reasons. I love the common theme of collaboration - in the code, the purpose of the applications, and the psyche of the folks involved. Furthermore, I'm already functional and happy in PHP. Then there's Drupal's high learning curve that motivates my drive. But most of all, it's because I've got the most excellent resource in my son Jacob Singh. He has, and continues to, help me in my endeavor on all fronts: technically, communally, and personally. I owe it all to him.

With Jacob's assistance and guidance over the last couple of months, I've immersed myself in Drupal, Linux, and associated toolsets and am now ready to find work in the industry.
