Mike Hritcko

Mike has just started learning Drupal for the past year. Recently, he has bought a lot of Drupal books because of its steep learning curve in how to use Drupal CMS.

His day job at a New York State agency mainly revolves around the design, development, and maintenance of his employer's internal and external web sites. Accessibility, XHTML and CSS are his main strengths. Sadly, his workplace is a pure Microsoft shop. Feels like a misfit, yes? :(

Mike has been learning and teaching himself new technologies, specifically open source - PHP, MySQL, Drupal and Linux openSUSE - on his own. He has also been learning Dojo and WAI-ARIA as well as HTML5 because he is deaf/hard-of-hearing, which is why accessibility is important to him. (Yes, he knows sign language. Do not be afraid to say 'hi' to him! :)

Attending DrupalCon will be his first time and he is eagerly looking forward to improving his Drupal skills and making new friends as well as looking for new opportunities.

His goal is to build a couple of Drupal-based web sites for a karate organization and dojo that he is a member of (as a student & instructor).
