My background: I am a trained academic scientist (Ph.D. in Biophysics, from U.C. Berkeley): I have been studying the genes that control nervous system development, most recently focusing on software-based genomics and bioinformatics analysis.

I have used CMSs such as Drupal for many years to manage very large data sets stored in multiple online biological databases. These databases contain genetic information, human disease information, or DNA sequence information, etc. for different organisms including humans. More recently I have been using Drupal as a CMS and Knowledge Management System for both discovering previously unknown relationships within this data, and thus creating knowledge linking different types of information.

I have submitted a proposal for a session called:

Web Services with Drupal and Flex for Knowledge Management and Knowledge Creation
