In 1998 I graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with a BS in Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems and immediately went to work for Booz Allen Hamilton as a technology consultant.

My primary client was developing a proof of concept telemedicine project using store and forward technology to send medical consultation data (presenting conditions and digital images) from primary care providers to orthopedic and dermatology specialists. The alpha site: Tripler Army Medical Center, Oahu.

For the next 3 ½ years I took many business trips from Virginia to Hawaii and managed to schedule the flights such that I could layover in Tacoma a few days each trip to visit with my wife Cathy, whom I had met over the internet and was not my wife at the time.

In July 01, I made the big move to Washington and by September I'd purchased a 1941 40' Monk which was my home for the next few years. Anchored on the Foss right across from the future site of the glass museum, I watched the spiral cone rise, fall, and rise again, listened to the freight cars hookup in the train yard at 3am, and of course enjoyed a very short commute to UWT where I completed my Masters in Computing and Software Systems in Jan 2007.

I have supported my education through various self employment activities including, income tax preparation, SOHO networking and PC setup, building web apps and data driven websites using commercial technologies like ASP.NET, Cold Fusion, IIS and SQL Server, as well as open source technologies like PHP and MySQL.

My primary information technology interests are in databases, embedded programming and robotics.

I used to spend my time building and flying R/C models, (i.e. 1 airplane, 1 helicopter), tying and fishing flies and riding my motorcycle. These days any free time between building my business and trying to contribute to Drupal is spent walking with my wife and our Golden Retriever melee around Point Defiance or down at Titlow beach: and of course, raising our son John.
