Alex has been developing almost exclusively with Drupal for more than two years, focusing in large part on aggregation (and FeedAPI) while building the news analyzer Managing News and on devising smart workflows for multilingual websites.

Before joining Development Seed, Alex managed information technology for Fundación Casa de los Tres Mundos, a development and cultural promotion organization in Nicaragua. While working in the country, he became involved in the Central American open source community.

His curiosity makes him regularly leave the realm of mere coding. In 2006, he
conceived and organized a traveling exhibit depicting life in Nicaragua and in
its sweatshops that toured in Nicaragua and Europe. Alex also has a pen-
chant for utopian automatons. He helped build the most human-like robot
ever made (it drank beer), a pancake catapult, and a spherical virtual reality
interface.
