Accessibility rights & wrongs of Drupal
The proposal for this BOF is not necessarily to present, but to brainstorm and showcase where in Drupal accessibility it is forgotten and critical. The primary question is, How well does Drupal support the creation of accessible web content to all authors, irregardless of experience or ability?
Web content is increasingly produced by our clients, the end user, without extensive web design skills nor knowledge about accessibility.
The quality of Drupal in supporting accessible content creation is critical. It's more than marking off a checklist. It's about making that accessibility sustainable through the life cycle of that product.
I'd like to highlight the Authoring Tools Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) and how it relates to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)'s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), ATAG and WCAG respectively.
