Brian Razzaque, is the president and founder of Vision Multimedia Technologies, LLC (www.vmtllc.com), a Baltimore-based software consulting firm. The company focuses on providing sophisticated custom application development services to businesses, government, and educational institutions.

VMT started as a result of Mr. Razzaque’s role as a head teaching assistant in the computer science department at the Johns Hopkins University where he attended college. His highly visible position and solid reputation enabled a number of businesses hoping to capitalize on the dot-com boom to seek him out and engage him as a consultant. This ultimately led to the formation of the company in 1998, while he was still a sophomore in school.

Mr. Razzaque graduated in the spring of 2000 with undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Biology. At the time of his graduation VMT was a small company with four employees. Within a few short months Mr. Razzaque was able to grow the company to a staff of twenty-two employees, with a client list that included NBC and the Johns Hopkins University. This meteoric growth earned Mr. Razzaque recognition in such publications as the Baltimore Business Journal and The Chronicle of Higher Education.

VMT was negatively impacted by the fall of the market in early 2001, and like many companies struggled through the economic downturn. During this period the company downsized to eight employees, but continued to provide valuable consulting services to notable regional businesses, educational institutions, and state government organizations.

Mr. Razzaque has worked hard over the past few years to build a solid company with an excellent reputation. These efforts have resulted in significant consistent growth over the past several years, resulting average annual revenues just under $2M and sixteen full-time employees as of first quarter 2008. In 2005 Mr. Razzaque was named as one of Baltimore’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Baltimore Business Journal, and VMT was named as one of Baltimore’s Future 50 by Baltimore SmartCEO magazine. In February 2006, Mr. Razzaque was also named as one of Baltimore’s Top Advisors by the same publication. Furthermore, VMT has been consistently listed as one of the top 20 Software Development Firms and Web Design Firms since 2001, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.

In addition to running the core software development company, Mr. Razzaque is in the process of spinning off two new software companies, one that targets the mortgage industry and another one that targets the bioinformatics industry. These new companies are being built on intellectual property that has been developed by VMT over the past several years. Mr. Razzaque also engages in local commercial and residential real estate development, and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

During his career, Mr. Razzaque has served as a Chief Operations Officer and a Chief Technical Officer for two other companies. He is listed as an inventor on a U.S. Patent, and has received recognition in numerous articles and publications. He is a member of a number of professional organizations; is extremely knowledgeable in 18 programming languages and dozens of computer programs; is very well versed in all forms of computer hardware and networks.
